I think becoming a Dulwich Quantum Meme is a good way to cap off the PhD

Beautiful @johncarlosbaez.bsky.social thread, feels like old quantum twitter again 😭

One of the best introduction of thermodynamics I've ever read. Thermodynamics as the old man at house party of theories of physics being introduced by his granddaughter, entanglement theory. Douglas Adams like brilliance from Matteo Lostaglio and a good reminder that a phd thesis can be playful.

@quoi-theory.at mods posted the defense pic where I look most dead - whilst I was tired, I was also very happy ❤️
Landauer was such a gangster. Maybe I should get this on a t-shirt (ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/521...)

From one tick to the next, small timing uncertainties in clocks usually add up because of the independence of errors. Using fermions tunneling through a quantum wire as clock ticks, we found a way to build a clock where errors cancel out rather than accumulate. arxiv.org/abs/2601.10785

Can Gottesman–Kitaev–Preskill (GKP) encoding turn homodyne detection into a practical tool for revealing Bell nonlocality? The answer is yes, and in fact GKP states also lead to strong and robust multipartite nonlocality with homodyne detection! Today on arXiv: arxiv.org/abs/2601.16189 1/n.

Here's how Hideki Yukawa predicted the mass of the particles that carry the nuclear force. It was a stunning episode in the history of physics, and the start of a new era. (1/9)
