Also L&D suffers from the idea that people care about what you learn on the job. Nobody does. They care about what you DO. And tracking that is easier with KPIs.
I loved the idea of xAPI because we could understand people on a deeper level, not because I could track all their courses.
Also I always wanted to do this in real life, train someone wrong as a joke
California can confirm this. 😬
Do that post mortem. One thing the AI boom has done for sure is make it unnecessary for everyone to write their learning data in the same way so you can analyze it across platforms.
And I guess some of us still do care.
I just learned to care about other stuff too. Like rocks and nature and other things people can't screw up quite as easily as they can other people. It turns out I care about those things more than I care about most people these days.
There are other ways of doing that now and honestly marketing departments have been doing that for a very long time without standardizing data formats.
Oh baby pleeeeease
Give a little respect
Toooo them!!
It is WILD though how quick people decided to jump on this when we have a whole ass list of pedophiles who are still alive and we seem to have dropped that from the news cycle.
I disagree. I think we can acknowledge that people are complicated and can celebrate their accomplishments while we acknowledge their shortcomings. If anything it gives us an opportunity for a discussion. We have all done great and terrible things.
