What an arsehole
But now we have walled gardens and newbies telling us that the internet should be like TV. No, this is OUR space, not your space where you feel entitled to tell us to behave. This is our space, not yours. If you hate it, fucking leave.

This is Fantastic and I Did Not Know this…
"We think the tech companies are sabotaging it" (paraphrased) Nah, you just pit tech companies against kids with access to technology and a will to bypass your bullshit, you may as well have marched on Russia in the winter dressed for the tropics

I found out about Furries and joined a community. So many oppressed people like gays and trans communities found support online. Everything could be discussed, it was incredible. Now people are popping up saying, "but the children". This was OURS. If you dislike it, maybe log off?
I recall in my youth watching TV, being told we were all about sports, supposedly all loving what they wanted us to love. Suddenly the internet arrived and it changed my life, everything was on the table, absolutely everything that TV and radio wouldn't touch, it was bliss. That's what I want.

I joined the internet in the early 90s, on my Amiga A1200. I loved it, I found communities which openly talked about things that old media wouldn't touch with a barge pole. We could say we found ourselves, Furries, the LGBT+ and others, this was truly our space.

THREAD. A few years ago, my dad was surprised to find a small toad had wandered into his porch and took up residence in one of the old shoes he liked to wear for gardening tasks. This led to more drama than might've been anticipated... www.tom-cox.com/my-dad-and-t...
