In the margins of the Helsingborg foreign ministers’ meeting, 🇫🇴 FM Nielsen met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, followed by talks with Adm. Pierre Vandier, SACT, on the Faroe Islands’ strategic role and closer cooperation to strengthen security and stability in the High North.
At today’s meeting in Helsingborg 🇫🇴 FM Nielsen joined Nordic, Canadian, and U.S. counterparts to discuss security and defence in the High North. The Faroe Islands continue to support NATO priorities through strengthened surveillance, joint exercises, and increased allied presence.

FM Nielsen welcomed EU Commissioner Costas Kadis to the Faroe Islands today. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the Faroes and the EU across shared priorities, alongside visits to Faroese maritime and aquaculture companies ahead of the UArctic Congress 🇫🇴🇪🇺
