Due all my love to GenAI since 2015, using hallucinations as filling an archival gap is indeed a NoGo. There are many different useful approaches with AI considering archives, but definitely not putting documents and generations on the same archival layer.
Symptomatic, how governments around the world are beginning to ban social media platforms for kids under 16 explaining the systems being "user-to-user platform whose purpose is to enable social interaction". Why don't they ban school yards? Or playgrounds. Lot of bullying there.
