💥 🚀 New preprint! 🎉🥳 How do hundreds of organelles organize themselves into near-perfect patterns inside a cell, without a blueprint? We dive deep into how basal bodies (BBs) self-organize in MCCs - and how actin actively tunes their dynamics into order 🍪 🧵👇 (1/17)
This thread was the coolest so I took the fluoddity repo and put a playground at g.mino.mobi/fluoddity OAP has described the explorer’s impulse when poking around these guys, and I can feel that. So! I have given the option to save your config to atproto.

"Similar mutual-aid networks operate in communities across the United States. One such hub has emerged at Delaney Hall, the grim facility in Newark. Delaney was reopened for immigrant detention by the Trump administration last May...under a $1 billion, 15-year contract." www.nj.com/opinion/2026...

Have you read Meynell and Lopez on gendering animals? Really compelling stuff. knowinganimals.libsyn.com/episode-219-...
This simple mechanism turns local signals into movement, changes in morphology, and biomass redistribution. It reproduces a wide range of experimentally observed Physarum behaviors, including chemotaxis, network formation, and balancing exploration vs exploitation in a two-armed bandit-like task. 9/

In general I'm just throwing around "x=slider*10"s and "y=slider*.0001"s for many global constants to see what happens. When starting from zero, I typically look at a sample of 64 randomly initialized behaviors at a time with ~10k particles per behavior. I'm trying to get something like this:
