Somerville College’s proposed new Ratan Tata Building, in the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, has been given planning permission by Oxford City Council. The building will be mostly teaching and learning space with tutor offices, study space and seminar rooms.
Exciting times ahead! After 22 wonderful years in York, I’ll be heading to Oxford in January to take up a Professorship in Applied Linguistics. To say it’s a privilege would be an understatement. Joy and exhilaration mixed with awe and that familiar “what-have-I-just-done?” feeling.
