My great niece McDub moving on www.sfchronicle.com/sports/annki...
Thanks Google! I have these shots of a red cross building on McAllister under construction around 1918 along with groups of workers wearing ribbons that say "I have given my services to the red cross" so I search google for that phrase & it found nothing, but offered some alternative searches
Opinions Needed On the left is pitcher Howard Ehmke circa 1928 for the American League Philadelphia Athletics. On the right unknown ballplayer for the 1914 Pacific Coast League Los Angeles Angels. Same Person? #sfhistory #sfmemory #baseball
Still trying to figure out where this was, it was a small building somewhere near the Ferry Building.
Sutro Baths, circa 1915 Teen swimmers with their instructor lined up outside the Sutro Baths near the settling pond #sfhistory #sfmemory

Presidio, 1917 A pic of a man in a car holding a baseball?? 100s of scans later, same event & cars. Voila! It's Pvt Eddie Conrad who caught the "gilded ball" thrown into the crowd at a game between the Seals & Oaks. He seems very happy, but no word of what he won. #sfhistory #sfmemory #baseball
I love immediacy of this, Based on a lot of his negatives I've looked at today, I think this photographer, Sam Crow, was experimenting with high speed photography. I don't have a lot of those examples online yet, but here's a link to what I do have sfmemory.org/search/index...

open.substack.com/pub/stackofp... I'm remembering my upbringing as a 3rd Gen Demoro Photog. And as a female photog in what was once much more of a "man's world" & how that shaped my thinking about who I am as an image-making person in the 21stCentury. #photography #history #bayarea ##sanfrancisco

Ferry Building, 1918 Three volunteer women smiling at a counter at the Red Cross Canteen in the Ferry Building (I assume) Thousands of Red Cross Canteens were set up in transit stations across the country to welcome home service people from World War I. #sfhistory #sfmemory (Sam Crow glass negative)
