Folks in the replies/quotes have already answered. So I'll just say some gas station food down here might change ya life.
Biscuits. Breakfast. Fried chicken. Gizzards. Etc.
I mean you have one side of town where all the food is but then many of us like me lived out in the boonies. Past the train tracks. Dirt road country. Once you get over there you ainβt going back unless you got work or school again

But sadly some folks do belittle gas station food because theyβre not privy to southern culture and history. No one questions why a bodega sells a sausage egg and cheese. We also have to eat on our way to school and work and a fast food place or cooking isnβt always an option
I didnβt have a concept of how far away everything was when I was a kid but when I tell you I lived in the country! I didnβt get my license/ a car til after college. Driving in my hometown is exhausting!!! Everything is damn near 30 mins from each other. I absolutely see why we utilized gas stations
I see it often folks will be from up north. βYeah my folks from down thereβ * turns nose up at every custom that isnβt mainstream* and doesnβt ask questions. Iβm always fine with curiosity or a polite ask but some folks treat us like weβre an embarrassing part of the diaspora
Damn Bluesky, are you the servers for a multiplayer game the first 12+ hours after it goes live, because you seem to be *struggling* lately
I am THIS country okay. I can smell a Cajun boiled peanut a mile away. You got an orange man, watermelon man, food truck out front even better. You got grits that come in a lil styrofoam cup? Pack those up for me. Yes I want two biscuits. Yes maβam
