Today confirms it!
Steam's new Personal Calendar FAR outperforms the bump seen from fighting tooth and nail for a Popular Upcoming spot.
In it's first full day, for a game 2 weeks out (the far end of the front page widget):
+3224 visits from the calendar
+1368 wishlists
Tomorrow, my new video is premiering! I need to drum up more hype for it, but I don't know how beyond telling everyone it's happening tomorrow, and I don't want to be too annoying about it either. So, get moderately hyped? Maybe quote the post and tell all your friends about it?
Early evidence is that Steam's new Personal Calendar is WAAAAY better than Popular Upcoming!!
Moon River is 2 weeks from launch with ~7000 wishlists. In less than a day after this change, we added >700 wishlists!!

The changes to Popular Upcoming will be felt by small indies.
BUT! The new Personal Calendar might be the perfect replacement?
It shows up earlier on the page. Is specific to YOUR interests. And let's you easily scrub through future AND PAST releases! Here's hoping it helps 🤞
here we go!!! ham-ham heartbreak on the switch!!! i just know it's gonna happen this time!!!
sometimes late at night i am confronted with a troubling thought: maybe in 2026 everyone has just forgotten how to make video games. then i am confronted with a more troubling thought: perhaps we actually never knew how to make video games in the first place
