Everything else, from tanks to rocket trucks to artillery vehicles, is just too slow & fragile to survive the overwhelming power of beam weapons, the sheer durability of MS armor making their shots ineffective & the agility that MSes have allowing them to dominate due to extreme close range.

The long & short of "why" IS justified in the UC timeline: Minovsky Fields, the exhaust of the "clean" nuclear reactors, fuck up target acquisition speed/make it impossible for everything that isn't tanky as hell & super agile for the sake of line of sight combat, which means planes & mobile suits.
To be fair Lastman is one of the gayest shows about a straight man I've ever seen
I wasn't trying to imply you didn't sorry! I was trying to explain why it goes away later, the suits get even better, faster & more specialized & pre-Minobsky vehicles can't hack it in LoS CQC combat, so they get outmoded.

I saw a guy who's apparently a game dev say he was weaning himself off of all mainstream art & entertainment products bc they're all compromised in this kinda way, & all the replies were lambasting him for being either deranged or full of shit. It's just not a fair expectation or rational standard!
