In 2018 I attended the inauguration of the square named after her in Brussels, which is the closest I have ever been to her friend Keir Starmer.
I did not know Jo Cox, murdered ten years ago today by a right-wing extremist, but we had a dozen friends in common. I admire what she did and stood for, and despise those who created the environment which killed her.
