Third time's the charm - Smooth Rupturewort (Herniaria glabra) from the Brecks this week. After two failed searches I was pleased to finally see this Breckland specialist.

I think there's only been one readily viewable Gull-billed Tern in Norfolk since I started birding (Titchwell area), and I missed that one, so I was really pleased that yesterday's Cley bird stuck around until late evening!
Insects stole the show at Waxham this morning with a steady trickle of Painted Ladies moving north, plus a few Whites, Bumblebees and Dragons incl. Lesser Emp and what was likely a Red-veined Darter. Birds quieter tho Cuckoo, Reed Warbler, 3 Yellow Wags and 3 Curlew were notable.

Platyrhinus resinosus, Early Marsh Orchid and Common Twayblade from South Norfolk this morning.
A couple of enjoyable evenings around TG42 this week with superb views of the long-staying Black-winged Kite, plus a few waders at Hickling including 2 Temminck’s, 5 Wood Sands and 11 Tundra Ringed Plovers. Also great to see a drake Garganey - a species that’s felt scarce this spring...
Relocating and watching the Black-winged Kite to a sound track of Bee-eaters wasn't in my plans tonight!
Single Wood Sand at RSPB Buckenham Marshes this lunchtime + 2 Greenshank, 2 Bar-tailed and 5 Black-tailed Godwits.
