I lost my dad last week. Below is a link to the obituary my sister @naomiaklein.bsky.social and I wrote this weekend (helps to have a sister who’s a pretty good writer 😉), along with a bunch of photos. A few more reflections. 🧵... everloved.com/life-of/mich...
Both of our former environment & climate ministers are speaking up strongly and critically regarding the direction of the current federal government on climate—even though it is their party. That to me shows integrity and leadership. Thank u @cathmckenna.bsky.social & @stevenguilbeault.bsky.social

2 weeks ago I returned from the first board meeting of the World Forum on Forest Therapy. As we implement our new strategic direction, supported by multi-year funding from the Korean government, I'm jumping for joy at our potential to catalyze action at the intersection of nature + health globally.
If you'd like to learn more about the upstream, systems-level changes we need to prevent more outbreaks of zoonotic diseases, read Dr. Neil Vora's important Time Magazine piece here:
As summer approaches, Ebola and hantavirus have many would-be vacationers on edge—but how worried should we be? "The best public health measure would be to allow FIFA fans to bring their own water, and avoid generating mountains of polluting plastic waste and unintended health harms." Thanks @tiffycrawford.bsky.social for interviewing me for this piece: vancouversun.com/news/fifa-ba... @cape-acme.bsky.social
June 3 was Clean Air Day. How fitting to mark it from June 4-5 speaking + visioning with global colleagues at the 5th annual Vancouver Summit (theme: wildfire smoke) linking evidence to action on healthy indoor air. Much food for thought, and new avenues for engagement. @cape-acme.bsky.social
Three days in St. Andrews, New Brunswick at Kingsbrae Conversations this week gave me a whole new perspective on Atlantic Canada's massive potential to lead on sustainability. Honoured to share insights onstage about nature prescribing + @cape-acme.bsky.social's work. www.kingsbraeconversations.com
Also: getting to spend a morning with my incredible @cape-acme.bsky.social NB colleagues at EARTHFest on Minister's Island, only accessible at low tide, was the crown on the tree. Learn more about this public festival here: earthfest.info
