Both of our former environment & climate ministers are speaking up strongly and critically regarding the direction of the current federal government on climate—even though it is their party. That to me shows integrity and leadership. Thank u @cathmckenna.bsky.social & @stevenguilbeault.bsky.social

June 3 was Clean Air Day.
How fitting to mark it from June 4-5 speaking + visioning with global colleagues at the 5th annual Vancouver Summit (theme: wildfire smoke) linking evidence to action on healthy indoor air.
Much food for thought, and new avenues for engagement.

If you'd like to learn more about the upstream, systems-level changes we need to prevent more outbreaks of zoonotic diseases, read Dr. Neil Vora's important Time Magazine piece here:
2 weeks ago I returned from the first board meeting of the World Forum on Forest Therapy.
As we implement our new strategic direction, supported by multi-year funding from the Korean government, I'm jumping for joy at our potential to catalyze action at the intersection of nature + health globally.
Grateful for last night's dinner conversation with Dr. Suzanne Simard at Terminal City Club. From a forest floor tour to saving old-growth, the discussion left our table inspired + ready to act.
I'm hosting a nature prescribing salon June 2.

Gratitude to @stevenguilbeault.bsky.social for his decades of service for people + planet. I've been using this photo in @cape-acme.bsky.social talks for years because he epitomizes the best kind of decision-maker: genuine, kind, science-informed + values-driven.
Merci beaucoup et bonne chance.
"The best public health measure would be to allow FIFA fans to bring their own water, and avoid generating mountains of polluting plastic waste and unintended health harms."

FIFA said it's a safety issue, but critics argue that it increases the risk of heatstroke and dehydration and raises environmental concerns.
