Extracting structural/linguistic properties for large text datasets can be annoying. Existing tools either are not maintained, do not scale, or do not cover extensive sets of linguistic features.
For this reason, I implemented 🧝elfen, a Python package for efficient linguistic feature extraction

Fun fact: resident orcas vocalize more than transient ones, because they mainly eat fish, that cannot hear their calls. They live in matrilineal pods, and the relatedness of pods can be established not only genetically, but also by the similarity of their (complex, stable, and learned) dialects 🌊🎶
Today I learned that the Jan Mayen island, a small island in the jurisdiction of Norway, close to Greenland and famous for its weather station and volcano, is actually on a microcontinent! Other microcontinents are Madagascar and New Zealand, but those are, of course, much bigger. Isn't that cool?
