Many have quietly left academia or research because of the brutal, world-level competition. Others are still here but struggling in silence, carrying meaningless guilt: "Not working enough." "Not determined enough." "Can’t keep up." "Can’t even sleep or have fun when they're 'supposed to.'" 3/7
Reach out - to me, to a trusted colleague, or to specialists. Don't let the silence and guilt convince you that you’re failing at "normal." You're running the same race with extra weight most people don't see. 6/7
