I got a new laptop recently, and I was convinced it would solve my RAM problems. Turns out it's me, I'm the RAM problem.
My new hobby has been to sprinkle in em dashes into my very human written text — just to mess with people. Got to keep people on their toes.

Just now, someone joined the Valkey community slack, copied my username and profile picture, and then sent a fairly personalized message to everyone in the community slack about some new caching and AI integration that linked to a malicious site. Remember your phishing fundamental folks!
Building and maintaining contributors is usually so much harder than the work of actually building the software itself, but the long term returns of having diversity really makes a project durable in the long run. Appreciate the analysis!
TIL that AWS really has no hard limit on spending. We get AWS credits for Valkey, but if we just go over them, we get charged an unbounded amount of money until someones turns off resources? That is kind of terrifying.
Nothing quite like responding to AI slop security email with an AI slop response going through why their wrong point by point. So glad we're burning the world for this high quality interaction.

I like that my government sometimes builds nice things. Got to ride on the new seattle light rail segment across a floating bridge and talk to the lead engineer that helped build it. Even the sun came out to enjoy it!
