That had never happened anywhere in this country in recorded history until 2003.
Three years ago, we hit 40 C (104 F) for the first time ever; now, we might do it again.
And we're so not ready for it.
1. If your local government has set up cooling centers, GO THERE. If not, find the nearest public buildings with AC and stay there as long as possible. Go see a movie. Visit a medieval church. Sit in Pret all afternoon.
2. Hydrate. Hydrate more. Even more than that. Avoid caffeine or alcohol.
Everyone knows that’s how priests deal with a squirrel problem, you baptize them and they’ll only be in church two days a year.
