A few other key findings from our research:
Both Senators Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell stood out as two of the only Republicans willing to forcefully stand against Trump's tariffs. While we disagree with them on many issues, they deserve tremendous credit for their courage here.
The top ranked on trade include 7 Senate Ds (Cantwell, Coons, Hickenlooper, Kaine, Murray, Shaheen, Wyden) and one R, Rand Paul. Glad to see Maryland's @vanhollen.senate.gov and @alsobrooks.senate.gov get decent "Ally" ratings.

We've said it time and time again, and we're going to continue saying it: Tariffs are a Tax on American families. They devastate small businesses across the country, and they alienate our allies. And they fail at their stated purpose of bringing back manufacturing.

In comparison, it's clear that the rest of the GOP has fallen far from its past support for free trade. A stunning 33 Republican Senators received A+, A, or B grades for their “Pre-Trump Trade Record”, but received overall F grades on the index due to their embrace of Trump’s protectionist agenda.
