Yeah, I definitely have a personal preference for off-line games. Either solo experiences or co-op with a friend. But live service games have the potential to make oodles more money than single player games so that's where the focus of the industry seems to be.
I’m also very weary about the world becoming dependent on hosted AI services. It gives those providers an immense amount of control over their users, plus i’m worried about the ecological impact. But locally run AI with moral training data is peaking my interest.
When you look at the astronomical amounts invested in data centres purely to run AI models, i don’t see smaller providers compete with that.
Why is poor Godot plushie upside down, are you waterboarding him?!? You monster!!! :P :P :P Damn cool technique though, very cool :)
That might explain that..
This makes me sad... I'm not really the target audience, did play rec room a bit in the beginning days, but I didn't have the time to invest. I wish there was a way for this to persist though. blog.recroom.com/posts/school...

Very much along my own thinking. AI as a tech is interesting and has use cases that are a net positive, but there are many current applications that are troubling.

This is an Epson, but it's one of the cheaper ones so I bet you that's the issue. These printers really aren't designed to be used occasionally I think. But even then, last time I printed I still had ink left so I don't even know why they are empty now... Sigh
That's my fear Tom, the strategy seems to be to get the entire industry addicted to AI so that when the REAL cost of it becomes apparent, it is too late for most companies to switch to hiring back talent which has since moved on and no longer trusts the industry.
