2/ This project unexpectedly connected many of my favorite topics: chloroplast metabolism, protein aggregation, prion-like domains, condensates, and plant–microbe interactions.
A multidisciplinary scientific journey from studying Huntington’s disease to fungal endophytes 🌱🧠🍄

Happy to be part of this collaborative work from the Zuccaro lab 🌱
Prion-like fungal PEPSI effectors target plastids and modulate host metabolism during root symbiosis, including the PEPSI6–DXR interaction.
PEPSI6 also connects to phytocytokine biology through possible CAP/CAPE-like processing.
Wow 👀🌱
3/ We believe root plastids remain highly understudied but could become central players in host–microbe interactions. Excited to finally share this story from my postdoc in the @algazuccaro.bsky.social lab!

Grateful for the opportunity to have pitched at #BioVaria 2026 as part of the Go-Bio early-stage program. It was a great experience building new connections, and opening the door to future opportunities to develop therapies for Huntington’s disease
Thanks to the organizers @biovaria.bsky.social
Hola amigos from Köln! I'll be speaking at Pint of Science 2026 in Cologne on May 18! 🍻

1/ Happy to share our latest work, now on bioRxiv! 🌱🍄
We explore how Serendipita indica effectors target root plastids and modulate plastidial metabolism through prion-like domains.
