But if you really can't help yourself, try to pay the "I would, but..." tax, if you're gonna give the poster a notification telling them you aren't gonna help them, you kinda are obligated to repost
A PSA post is not a request to you personally and imagine how it looks to come across someone putting something out there they need help with and the only response is "no". Just repost, don't need to do more than that
I think a lesser known internet social thing is that if you come across a post looking for volunteers or donations or contributors or selling something, you don't need to reply explaining why you're not going to (don't have time, don't have money, etc), especially if you're the first one to reply

For a long time I felt like this was never going to be realistic for me but i've always loved this city and never wanted to leave it, my career kinda took off the last few years and we were able to afford our own place in my favourite neighbourhood of the city
By the way, if you have the resources to do this in smaller marathons where the donation total stays static for a few minutes or longer, I highly recommend it as a donation-soliciting method, it actually works.
(I was 25k in the hole and not making enough money to make a dent in it just a few years ago, now here i am with zero debt and a cute boyfriend and a place we're gonna own in august, sometimes one lucky break turns everything around)
