There is the obvious human cost of direct casualties... But if the environmental damage is large enough that it measurably moves the needle on climate change.. then you can say that any war is killing us all slowly.
Random thought - what is the environmental cost of war? With reports of oil refineries being hit in Iran, Israel and elsewhere... How much CO2 is being just burned off with 0 utility?
Where does the waste of bombed infrastructure, buildings, cars go to? What is the CO2 footprint of armies?
Israel is bombarding, literally bombarding, two Middle East capitals, Beirut and Tehran, killing 100s of civilians, and yet the US and UK media continue to portray Iran as the threat to the region.
Israel has nukes, but Iran is the nuclear threat.
