For the third straight game, Adley Rustchman and Samuel Basallo were absent from Baltimore’s lineup. But on Wednesday, the Orioles lineup more than made up for it. On a 7-0 win, the catchers injuries and Craig Albernaz’s pregame comments:

The Orioles loaded the bases in the bottom of the third with no outs. The next three at-bats: Pete Alonso strikeout Colton Cowser shallow flyout Leody Taveras strikeout. Lots of boos. 0-0.
Asked if Adley Rutschman was available tonight, Craig Albernaz joked that Rutschman wanted to pull a Kirk Gibson. “He felt good after his workout, so we’ll see how he feels after he sleeps tonight and wakes up tomorrow. But, yeah, it was an encouraging sign.”
