I hesitate to talk too much about the horrors the US and Israel have unleashed in Iran, because (even as I recognize how deeply intertwined they are) I don't want to detract focus from the greater horrors unleashed in Palestine and Lebanon. My loved ones in Gaza are once again dying of heat, and Israel has once again blocked all aid (from the crossing through which a tiny amount of aid was permitted.) I feel so furious and helpless, and find myself wondering if gas prices might garner the kind of antiwar movement that genocide hasn't.
The US and Israel have destroyed Iran's largest water dams and backup water tanks, including EVERY backup water tank in ALL of Southern Iran. The people who die of thirst and hunger (Iran's agriculture relies on water tanks) as a result of these war crimes will never be mentioned in the death toll.
