It's interesting... but yeah. even outside this fandom, I've never been a yume/self insert or established character/oc shipper. I would rather play with two established characters or two original characters. It's more fulfilling to me...
wolnpc tier lists has me philosophical about character&character dynamic writing... I enjoy some wolnpc. but at heart I am an npc/npc or oc/oc (in an rp setting) guy. wol!ocs just don't really interest me, even my own, bc I don't think the wol narrative is very interesting outside of a few expacs
No judgment who enjoy npcoc shipping I'm just rambling outloud about why I sometimes feel like an alien here (not in an angsty way, just in an anthropological but also vaguely frustrated I can't make myself be more engaged way lmao)
I've drifted through many spaces of this fandom. started in the wolnpc side, then npcnpc side, then rp oc side, then back to npcnpc side and the etiquette and expectations are so different in each corner, even between the wol!oc and rp!oc factions - especially different, even.
with this louisoix it's fun to thread the needle between "he's literally nice" and "oh no" bc I think it's interesting if he is capable of both... that makes the "oh no" worse if he can be genuinely kind for genuine reasons...
I think that's the crux of the friction I feel just being in this space. I /can/ care about ocs but very rarely can I make myself care about ocs in the context of the wol narrative. And I acknowledge that is an issue of personal taste lol I don't care about special guy narratives...!! even my own
