Seems like a worthy target for a divestment campaign by teachers' unions. Doesn't SpaceX's own filing say most of its future value comes from the robo-grooming chatbot?
Though I notice the directive pretty much forced Anthropic to block virtually everyone from Fable 5 regardless of location or nationality. Reads to me more as an attempt to punish Anthropic than to preserve US-specific competitive advantage.
Musk deserves more ire than he's gotten, not less. But there's plenty to go around, and much of it should be directed at the army of sensible, respectable suits who've nodded along while fascists flood the zone with racist bile, eagerly sanitising their talking points for as long as I've been alive.

A fascinating write-up. An aside that jumped out at me: European electricity users face "a few minutes of outages per year" whereas US users face 2-11 _hours_ per year. One of the hidden economic variables that may explain why US quality of life relative to Europe's is overstated by income stats?
