Been dipping into this thought-provoking chap by Dijkstra, @singingarchives.bsky.social & Hofman in Hung & @willemijnruberg.bsky.social's edited vol recently: www.google.fi/books/editio... Lots to chew over & well worth a read, #DisHist, #EmoHist & @hexhistory.bsky.social folks!
It is surprising how so few of the many histories of eugenics centre the voices of disabled people. Uncovering these perspectives contradicts all previous narratives of eugenics in interwar Britain
YAY! Brilliant to see Nina Geerdink & Victoria Nyst's article about a deaf woman in the #EarlyModern #LowCountries out in BMGN! This is really SUCH cool research, making you think about what it is we study when we study #DisabilityHistory -- plus introducing an intriguing figure to me at least.
