For those of us keeping score at home (me, absolutely), 8 states have now won their cases against the DOJ and kept voter registration lists out of federal hands.
Most recently, Maine and Wisconsin prevailed. In Maine’s case, the ruling even came from a Trump-appointed judge.
A big election story this week.
The FBI raided the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a voter registration nonprofit, seizing equipment and questioning staff. Federal authorities haven't said why.
Voter registration work doesn't need a conviction to be chilled. A raid will do.
