It's interesting that Iran went after US bases rather than Gulf energy. Given Trump's reluctance to go back to war, it's probably less likely to cause further escalation unless the Iranians managed to kill more American soldiers
This is an extremely concise description of the way de escalation happens in foreign affairs.
It is also why just saying “nah wasn’t a big deal all fine over here” after having personnel rescued after crashing their helicopter into the sea comes across not just as weak but *undignified*.
Too much is happening at once, we need to dial down the rate at which things happen by at least 50%. Thanks
Not that it really matters at this point, but imagine if the Iranians had shot down an American helicopter and Barack Obama had said it's no big deal. Take a deep breath and really imagine it
Good insights on Iran and Yemen.
I watched it yesterday evening and recommend the channel.

If you watched the last 24 hours of news from some bunker in Tehran, how would you not conclude that you're winning the war? And if you think you're winning the war, why would you be willing to make significant concessions?
Europe obviously has plenty of problems, but being "boring" (relatively speaking, obviously) could become one of our greatest assets in the competition with the United States and China
