BBC has finally confirmed the David Sullivan Panorama is going ahead tonight.
This is the most blatant - and stupid - non-denial denial I can remember Good luck to Hackney Council with their investigation... www.londoncentric.media/p/hackney-lo...
Vape, lithium ebike battery, or exploding nox canister - place your bets now!
Men are class.
This popped up on my Facebook and (ignoring the story, whatever) there's something just properly odd about the social admin of a national newspaper posting like this. I guess all news outlets are just seven terminally online trainees on minimum wage chucking shit at the algo these days.
This post has led to an utterly weird story that is coming tomorrow morning on London Centric. Sooooo a gamble just for Bluesky: If you're not a subscriber but you sign up before I publish, I'll give you a third off. If you don't like the story DM for a full refund: www.londoncentric.media/5cf0224f
The fire risk at the hotel could have been spotted in 2017. Yet for some reason, which a judge could not understand, a sample of perfectly safe cladding that couldn't have come from the hotel was provided to the consultants. More detail in the story itself... www.londoncentric.media/p/asif-aziz-...
An Ibis hotel by Wembley Stadium is coated in flammable Grenfell cladding. 100,000s of guests stayed without realising. No one knew because of a mysteriously bodged fire test and and a rewritten safety report. The freeholder? Billionaire Asif Aziz’s firm. www.londoncentric.media/p/asif-aziz-...
It's been a tough day but enormously cheered by this Reddit thread of a guy demanding Tesco treat bananas as berries for the purpose of getting extra club card points. www.reddit.com/r/LegalAdvic...

Are you the best geoguesser in London? Need a bit of help on an investigation. Looking to locate this photo of a cemetery or churchyard in London, probably in the north or east of the city. Victorian graves overlooked by low rise post-war flats. I’ve tried most of the places I can think of!

Fire in Bermondsey sends huge plumes rising high over the city and disrupts train travel in the area Fifteen fire engines and about 100 firefighters have been called to tackle a major fire at a recycling centre in south London. Fire control officers were first called just after 5.30pm on Monday to the centre on Landmann Way in Bermondsey. Continue reading...

Just published - it's the twentieth anniversary of an inconsequential administrative change in Greater Manchester. Why do people still remember the short-lived A6144(M)? It's the latest post in my occasional series, Imperfectly Odd. open.substack.com/pub/roadsorg...

It was the UK's only single-carriageway motorway, and twenty years ago it ceased to exist. Why was it so fascinating - and why is it still so fondly remembered today?
