GLAAD’s key recommendations for AI developers and deployers: ✅ Fix the foundation: ensure inclusive LGBTQ representation in training data ✅ Don't automate discrimination: audit agentic AI before it scales ✅ Maintain human oversight in content moderation
The AI industry can and must follow best practices. Biased training data can be corrected. Content moderation can protect LGBTQ voices instead of silencing them. Privacy safeguards and red-teaming with LGBTQ communities can be built in from day one.
AI is already shaping how people find information, apply for jobs, and engage with the world. The question isn’t whether AI will affect LGBTQ lives. It’s whether companies will build it responsibly.
