Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser told Senator Michael Bennet he should stay in the U.S. Senate and get his act together - they sparred in the 9NEWS Democratic Gubernatorial Debate.
“You’ve made some mistakes,” Weiser told Bennet. “I know you can shape up.”
That's nearly the biggest change in Senate voting patterns with respect to Trump in that time period, second only to... John Hickenlooper.
Here's the difference in Bennet's Senate voting record before and after April 11, 2025, the day he announced his candidacy for governor.
From voting with Trump and Republicans 21% of the time (in the most conservative third of Dems) to 4% of the time.
New PPP poll by Weiser IE group shows huge drop in support for Michael Bennet in race for Democratic nomination for Colorado Governor.

If you're a farmer in Palisades, or a smokejumper in Glenwood Springs, or a rancher in Baca County, or someone in Denver or Aurora who needs food assistance, wouldn't you want the Chair of the Senate Agriculture Committee to be from Colorado?

Michael Bennet really is the candidate of out-of-state billionaires. Fun fact: his biggest supporter, Michael Bloomberg, gave $8.3 million to Andrew Cuomo's failed candidacy last year. coloradonewsline.com/2026/06/01/b...

Michael Bennet with a huge drop in support in the Democratic Primary for Colorado Governor (Note that I work for the committee that paid for this poll). RELEASE: Weiser and Bennet locked in a tight race in Colorado’s Democratic primary for Governor DENVER — Attorney General https://t.co/V7eIOotnt8
If the Dems take the Senate in Nov., Sen. Bennet is in line to Chair the powerful Senate Agriculture Comm by virtue of his 17 years of seniority. If he becomes Governor, Colorado loses that. I am surprised that Colorado news organizations have not explored the potential consequences for our State.
