When it’s an individual doing it, I can see the vanity and ego boost of “more engagement” having personal value. Or if on X, there’s Elon’s payout scam. But for larger brands, it’s just weird, because I don’t think there’s any evidence that it drives meaningful referrals
You should also have asked him about creating wild, unhinged, and baseless conspiracy theories to ruin the reputation of a great person for no reason
And generally speaking, front office people don't mind that trend, since it gets them off the hook for any mistakes. Just pretend that everything is fine with the roster, if only the coach knew how to vaguely "adjust."
Close the roof
Another one from the Ime Udoka tree. (The criticism Udoka got this season was so over the top. Certainly not saying he's perfect, but folks turned him into a one-size-fits-all pinata for all their grievances.)
P.S. It's funny seeing the "Knicks fired their coach and won a title..." takes when you can also make the opposite argument. Maybe Mike Brown was let go several times when he shouldn't have been, simply because he was a convenient scapegoat.

Damn that’s a hard forecast #houwx
There's no salary cap on coaching hires, and it's always easier to try a system change than to dramatically reshape a roster, so I get why they're convenient scapegoats for orgs. But there are also a lot of fans in the stan era that blame coaches so that their favorite players can be absolved.
It’s definitely sports misogyny grifting with the Becky-specific focus, given that many people said similar things about the identical issue. But yes, what’s most weird to me is I haven’t seen data suggesting that “more engagement” actually leads to increased referral traffic in any way
