It makes me think of the differences with facilities in Arizona, such as the ones in Florence and Eloy, that are often the final facilities for people from all around the country before they are deported. They are also at least an hour's drive from major metropolitan areas in the state.

One dimension of the active resistance around the Delaney Hall immigration detention facility is that so many of the people detained there are from the region around the facility. This table is from @austinkocher.com's analysis of data describing people detained at that facility.
Among the findings of my data reporting is an increase in ICE transferring people to another state within 24 hours of being booked into detention.
