Gary Gygax and Frank Mentzer's immortal D&D adventure, The Temple of Elemental Evil, returned as a CRPG by Troika Games in 2003
Using D&D's 3.5 edition rules, it faithfully followed the blueprint laid down by the original 1985 tabletop module while also wracked with a swarm of game breaking bugs.
The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey (2004) is an action RPG for the N-Gage by Vir2L Studios. In the last years of Jagar Tharn's masquerade as the Emperor of Tamriel, the shadows dancing at his fingertips scheme far from the throne, drawing you and your village into their plans! (a plotting thread)
I liked the first Sinking City so I tried the beefy (31GB!) demo for the sequel on Steam. Feeling a tasty 'Resident Evil' vibe here, only replace the T-Virus with worm-filled flesh bags and Cthulhu chaos.
Another thing that stood out: the look and feel of its 1920s setting. Frogwares' crushed it.
Valkyrie no Boken: Toki no Kagi Densetsu (1986) was an action RPG for the Nintendo Famicom in Japan by Namco. In Marvel Land, life was peaceful until the Key of Time was accidentally removed freeing the imprisoned Zouna. Now a young Valkyrie is sent to battle evil! (a hack 'n slash Valkyrie thread)
