We don't get taught the actual history of fascism and resistance. It wasn't just World War II that defeated fascism, in fact, the U.S. and Britain immediately closed ranks with them and created a coalition. It was normal people standing in the streets and fending them off that curbed the rise.
No more compromising with fascists. No more supposed leaders playing footsy with their white supremacist dogwhistles and framings. No more pretending this isn't the reality of our situation. We either come together or we all get crushed. Those are the terms and there is no choice.
We chase Nazism and Fascism from every public square and we demand strong, determined politicians who aren't quisling compromisers. We push widespread reform and aggressive anti-corruption/anti-oligarch measures with the goal of addressing the material conditions fueling this. That's the only way.
And for fuck's sake we don't sacrifice anyone. Not a man, woman, or child. We stand up for vulnerable communities and leave behind this egregious bartering with their lives and fates. Nobody left behind, nobody sacrificed, nobody targeted. Actual, living, breathing, sincere solidarity.
Try and care about trans people and gay people and people of color and women and immigrants and the disabled and the poor and the homeless as much as you care about the White House being desecrated.
There are fucking pogroms happening in Europe. Trans kids are being targeted everywhere. There is an active apartheid state growing by the day and people are starving. Lock the fuck in.
Pogroms like this are going to become commonplace unless we take action. The oligarchs who incentivize and encourage this need to be brought to heel. We can't accept supposed leaders flirting with xenophobic rhetoric for "electoral purposes." We have to stand together, arm in arm, in solidarity.
