The US will end up decades behind other countries as more and more researchers seek opportunities abroad to escape the limitations they will face here.
As a World Cup host, the U.S. shouldn't be flippantly barring officials from entering the country to do their jobs. It's terribly backward. It's also counterproductive. Global sports competitions should improve international exchange and relations, not the reverse.
This blew my mind. Some of the largest data centers can require up to 5 million gallons of water per day, equivalent to the water use of 50,000 people. Why are we selling out the survival of our planet to enrich a handful of Big Tech CEOs?
Referee denied entry. Officials denied entry. Players denied entry. Fans denied entry. The U.S. is proving exactly why it never should’ve been chosen to host the World Cup.
