I think every episodic show ideally should end somewhere in the ballpark of 3 seasons. I've seen some shows stay good well into twice that, but the amount of shows that pull that off are like 3 next to a 100 shows that rot 4 seasons in.

The long term consequences of sheltering your kids from everything is they're gonna grow up to be really annoying adults that are impossible to recommend anything outside of safe kids movies. I've seen this happen and it annoys me because everyone acts like a snob but their favorite movie is Frozen.
