Manuscripts sitting with an associate editor for a month at a society journal is simply unacceptable, esp. when authors have more options than ever for disseminating results. This has happened twice at @rsc.org for me in the last 2 months.

From Rochester to Glasgow to Rome - Science is a global endeavor and nations are fools to neglect it. Lucky and fortunate I can play a small part in keeping the worldwide flow of knowledge and culture flowing.
The 2026 @urochester.bsky.social NSF IRES program has gotten off to a smashing start! Great seeing these 9 undergraduate students from all over 🇺🇸 starting to do amazing research on dynamic crystalline materials across central Italy. Much more fun stuff to come!
