The number of scientists who don't realise that libraries and archives are the humanities equivalent of labs, is depressing. Yet they feel very confident deciding they're an unnecessary expense. I've never encountered the reverse situation.

The 2 WORST use-cases for LLMs for this work at the moment is anything requiring comprehensiveness (unless you already have the full dataset) or perceptual judgment, like qual coding--the 2 things they used it for. (& that's coming from a Claude Code user who finds copyediting with Opus v. helpful)
