At the Met yesterday, saw a relevant print: New Yorkers, mostly people of color, pulling down a statue of King George.
Think of what Biden did with his reconcilation bills, or even what Trump did last year: like them or not, they were big swings, taking advantage of the one-time exclusion from filibuster rules. But all the Republican majority could muster was a bill that would have bi-partisan any other year.
I understand that Trump generally doesn't care about passing bills, which is why he doesn't care about undercutting Congress. But there's a lot you still need laws to get done, and it's hard to understand this as anything more than a punt, a sad trombone to finish out Trump's trifecta.
