Sumayah Nakazibwe and Stella Ariokot were frightened they would be next as fires took hold on neighbouring houses and rioters set cars alight
(I now have three or four different versions of the video in different resolutions. Then I figured out that it was the alt text but it didn’t seem to be perfectly aligned with the number of characters. Or possibly I am innumerate.)

And because, that being the case, I inevitably forgot to tag it #booksky because, having been an author on social media for basically twenty years, I am apparently still horrible at this part of my job.
Sidenote: I'd really appreciate it if you repost this, if only because getting the damn thing to display on Bsky with a decent alt text was something of a labour of love. And also because, obviously, I want everyone in the universe to know this is coming.
Seriously, there should be a particular bar in a corner of a strange city full of shadows where authors can go and sit in mute appreciation of their own inability to push buttons in the right order to do the relatively simple things publicists ask of them.
Also how did my children not inform me? Do young people have no sense of their responsibility to keep their parents tethered to the real world?
(If you’re wondering: bsky refused to display the original post because the alt text was too long, but I didn’t realise that because I thought the limit was more generous and assumed it was complaining about the size of the video.)
Okay, how did I just completely miss that The War Between The Land And The Sea was a DW thing? How did I basically miss knowing about it entirely? Am I just a bad nerd?
