On this Day, The Pillersdorf Constitution is released. Partially inspired by the US Constitution, it gave civil rights to the Austrian populace, however it excluded many, including non-Germans from the newly formed parliament. By May it collapsed, and Emperor Ferdinand I abdicated in December 1848.
