Why hasn’t an openly-republican party like @scottishgreens.org done more to challenge the oath of allegiance to the monarch and their “heirs and successors” - especially as Northern Ireland Assembly MLAs don’t have to take it?

As do MPs, MSPs and (I think) MSs - but not MLAs. I’m amazed there hasn’t been more opposition to it, especially in Scotland. If MLAs don’t have to do it, why should anyone else?
