A crucial issue: deregulation by stealth, which could expose us to a greater range of hazardous chemicals than the EU permits, contrary to government promises. We at Fighting Dirty are suing. We need your help. Please see crowdfunder in next post. Thank you 🧵 www.theguardian.com/environment/...

It’s complicated to explain why and I’m tired and it’s Sunday but to be clear: if they do this it absolutely guarantees that the UK’s net zero 2050 target will not be met. It is rank capitulation of of climate commitments to special interests tied to the fossil lobby

If this is to be Starmer’s ‘legacy’ - undermining the UK’s transition to electric vehicles - it’s one that @andyburnham.bsky.social must un-do if he becomes PM. With the Strait of Hormuz still closed, with the UK hitting record temperatures, why on earth would we go slow on net zero?!

Incredible numbers of Little Terns at the Long Nanny this year, 126 nests at the last count !! I've never seen numbers like this, normally reaching 50 pairs is considered excellent. High tides today & tomorrow are concerning, hope they don't wash out too many nests. 🤞🤞🤞 #NEbirding #Lowcarbonbirding
