the wayland wm/de ecosystem feels so bleak and dead despite more active development because everything outside of gnome/kde/hyprland/maybe cosmic always seems to be missing a significant amount of really basic and reasonably expected functionality a lot of people rely on
it is 2026 and even if wayland technically works on your hardware you can still be screwed over by the simple fact that anything which isn't a big DE project is missing basic, reasonably expected functionality
think it's really neat how a lot of modern cli tools have options for json output so you can do silly little scripts that pipe text around with jq to process and pluck things instead of dealing with awk/sed
oh god xwayland doesn't do fractional scaling so you have to turn it off or shit's blurry but it's looking like hyprland is the only wayland tiling wm that at least lets you disable that scaling regardless of what your monitor scale is set to?
i might actually just be locked into hyprland on my laptop because of this and this is highly upsetting
hey can someone give me the tl;dr 2-3 commands to clean my nix store/cache and delete older generations to reclaim my disk space (i will write them down this time i pinky promise)
