You might think it won't happen or that it's better than all the other options (not my view, just to be clear). And it is often forgotten that many states - including in Europe's relatively recent history - were created through ethnic cleansing. But please, let's not pretend this is anything else.
Good old @theguardian.com, urging Jews to celebrate Purim by reflecting on "the evil that Jews commit" and "the danger we pose" to non-Jews... "With the blood of their foes barely dry, the Jews feast and make merry." Happy Purim! www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Plus, you can imagine what the leaders of that movement would say if Israel forced the released Palestinian prisoners to pose surrounded by IDF soldiers in front of a banner calling them Nazis and crowing about the war in Gaza etc.
Striking how similar the sentiments - and even exact wording - is on this Hamas banner to the placards and chants on protests in the UK. “Nazi Zionism”, victory to the resistance, etc. Different parts of the same movement.
If Palestinians want to leave Gaza and live somewhere else, then if there are other countries willing to offer them residency or citizenship they should be able to go. The moment they are forced against their will to leave en masse, it is ethnic cleansing. I don't see how it can be anything else.
