I am so tired. I had to not up hours for two casual jobs and before I could sign off for the day, I had to do stuff for David. I couldn’t face another minute at the desk so nicked out and was delighted by this little fairy garden And busy Rosellas.
I love walking around my neighbourhood. It helps clear your head and stimulates deep thoughts. Always useful when you are #writing. Also, you never know who you will meet! Here are two of my suburb's avian residents.
David picked up some books, including a few for me.
One of my not-so-guilty pleasures: historical fiction of the Tudor era! Combined with coffee, cheese ball, and desultory chat before the working day begins, well, I couldn't be happier.
Some spectacular colour in the sky this afternoon. About four thirtyish.
War & Society's article of the week! jgkennaway.bsky.social 'Military surgery as national romance: memory of British heroic fortitude' highlights how stoicism during surgery at Battle of Waterloo was a key part of Romantic Militarism's ideological framework. www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
All rugged up for morning tea!
I had a good morning writing so deserved a treat. Lunch with my best beau💕✍️✍️✍️✍️
This is actually a memory from three years ago. Not only did I manage to get a 6 June appropriate word but they let me get away with it! And then I won the game by one point. A miracle as I rarely win, so, naturally I couldn't resist posting it again.
Happy 3nd birthday to Kriegies! Shortlisted for the ACT Literary Awards 2024 on its first birthday, it won an award & later received the 2024 Anzac Memorial Trustees Military History Prize. Not a bad effort for a little self-published book that the majors weren't interested in.
